Mohbad: Sympathisers ‘dispersed with teargas’ at Lekki tollgate

Protesters and fans of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba known as Mohbad, were on Thursday night allegedly dispersed with teargas at the Lekki Tollgate, Lagos State.

The protesters held a candlelight procession in honour of the late singer on Thursday.

While announcing the protest on Monday night via the official X handle of the deceased, the management said it did “appreciate the outpouring of love from fans across the world to the ones who’ve organised events in their communities as a way to honour and pay respect to our shining light we say thank you. Join us for Mohbad’s candlelight procession and tribute concert.”

The protesters were dressed in white T-shirts played and danced to the songs of the late artiste, as part of their last respect and tribute.

However, a voice in a video seen by our correspondent from a popular skit maker, Oluwadolaz, claimed, “We have been dispersed with teargas…”

Meanwhile, a post by a popular On-Air Personality, Do2dtun, on his X handle read, “Honesty over Honesty Nigerians do not listen. WE DO THE MOST. This procession ended at Muri Okunola Park over 3 hours ago. We ended and all left. Some still went to converge at the Lekki toll gate. It is not a protest. It is a CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION.”

A Nigerian lady who was present during the exhumation of late singer Mohbad's body in Ikorodu has cried out. She showcased the fresh blood inside the coffin in the video and alleged a foul play in Mohbad's death. 

According to the young lady, his body was not smelling after nine days of his alleged death at a hospital. She cried out saying; 

“They killed him. He is not smelling, see fresh blood. They killed him! Omo! See fresh blood.”

The movie star took to social media to reveal how she received a letter to pay N18 million in tax within seven days A number of netizens reacted to her post with many claiming it was a targeted attack over her lack of support for APC during the presidential election 

Top Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo is once again in the news after she called out the Lagos state government over a letter she had received to pay N18 million tax. 

Taking to her official Instagram page, the movie star posted a photo of the letter where she was told to pay the huge amount within seven days.

Iyabo then accompanied the post with a lengthy caption where she tackled the Lagos state government on how they came about the ‘outrageous personal income tax’. She lamented about how she has already been made to pay huge amounts for her business, house and other things and was now given seven days to pay N18 million.
