Nigerian governor bans NURTW from collecting revenues at parks, garages

Members of the National Road Transport Workers (NURTW) have been banned from collecting dues and revenues on behalf of the government at the motor parks and garages in Ogun state.

The Punch reported that a statement on the ban was issued by the Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun on Sunday, February 7.

In a statement released by the commissioner for information and strategy, Abdulwaheed Odusile, the governor told the leadership of the NURTW and their operatives to stay away from all parks and garages in the state.

The governor said security agencies have been ordered to arrest and prosecute any NURTW member that goes against the warning.

The state government disclosed that the warning became necessary in view of intelligence reports by the security agencies that the union is planning to resume collection revenues at the motor parks in the state.

The statement recalled that the activities of NURTW were suspended at motor parks due to the leadership crisis in the union.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the book that was allegedly published by the Lagos state chairman of the NURTW, MC Oluomo.

The photo of the book titled My Service to Humanity is trending on social media and many have reacted to it in different ways.

While some congratulated MC Oluomo on the publication of his book, others could not hide their surprise that he could author a book.
