disbandment, which was announced by the IGP during a nationwide address, is unarguably historical — a total validation of the massive #EndSARS protests by the Nigerian youths. It would be recalled that since Thursday, October 8, the Nigeran youths have been taken to the streets to protest ceaseless police maiming, killing and grand extortion of the people profiled as criminal based on their look.

Polygamous pastor proudly shows off his 2 wives, many children

- Sekati Kemmonye is a man of God who believes man cannot live by one woman alone

- He is a father of many who blessed himself with two beautiful wives

- The happy preacher had people talking when he posted a photo of his ladies gleefully holding hands and posing next to each other

What is better than having a wife to go home to, a shoulder to cry on and a partner to spend the rest of your life with? A popular pastor from Botswana named Sekati Kemmonye believes the answer is two wives.

Polygamy, an African tradition that had been turned into a big abomination is slowly creeping its way back to civilisation and even religious clerics are embracing it. Kemmonye has become the talk of the town after proudly parading his two irresistible wives on social media. It all started with a photo of the cleric draped in identical shirts with his ladies as they sat next to one another during a family safari.

Their fits collectively spelt out love and their faces glimmered with satisfaction as the proud husband flaunted the fruits of togetherness. His photographer Innocent Suge also marvelled at how the family lived in harmony and shared a bond so strong. Sekati went ahead to post a picture of himself and his two wives standing tall with their kids who were also dressed in matching clothes. It was a family affair like no other.

They knew nothing like segregation and made sure everyone went on their outing. The family enjoyed a stroll and drive in a national park. As we  scrolled through the pastor’s Facebook account, we came across a post of the family man fiercely supporting men who were courageous enough to get two apples of their eye. He termed people who opposed polygamy as pretenders and said even religion allows such practice.

“Then, we ran into them. That was when they stopped the attempt to lynch him.

“In fact, at the time we picked him, his second, who was in another car, took off.

“The proactive measure adopted by the members of the public was what saved the situation.

“They wanted to mob him because he was there for vote-buying purpose and the voters resisted selling their votes.”

Olu Onemola, a former news media assistant to ex-Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki is one of those arrested.

Onemola tweeted that he is being detained at a station in Maitama, Abuja for participating in the protest.

Onemola's ex-boss, Saraki, recently added his voice to the #EndSARS protests.

He wrote on Twitter:

“The reports of the aggression meted out to young Nigerians protesting the high handedness of rogue units of the Nigeria Police Force are deeply disturbing. “Leaders of our nation ought to listen to and engage with our youth on matters concerning their wellbeing. I hope this approach changes soon.”

This past week, thousands of youths nationwide have taken to the streets to demand that police authorities scrap the dreaded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The recent social media campaigns have moved to the streets as young Nigerians vow to shut down the country until their voices are heard. Meanwhile, as the #EndSARS protests enter Day 3 nationwide, the Lagos state House of Assembly has called on the federal government to scrap the unit. The pastor's statement has generated huge reactions with thousands of likes, comments and retweets.

Adeboye is one of the religious leaders in the country who does not shy away from making comments on national issues. Recently, he warned the federal government that Nigeria may break up if the country is not restructured.

Adeboye gave the warning on Saturday, October 3, at a symposium to mark Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day celebration. He told his audience that the federal government must find a lasting solution to secession agitations and its economic challenges by restructuring the country.

However, the presidency responded by telling Nigerians to refrain from trying to compel the federal government to take decisions on restructuring. Garba Shehu, one of the spokespersons to the president in a statement on Sunday, October 4, described such comments as unpatriotic outbursts.

He said the Buhari administration would not succumb to threats and take any decision out of pressure at a time the nation is dealing with security challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to her, doctors have diagnosed her of having bipolar disorder. Mayo Clinic states that bipolar disorder, formerly called manic depression, is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs and lows.

"Five days ago, I made a video saying that my marriage to Austin Faani is over and that video came with a lot of backlash from people with many insinuating that it's a clear case of domestic violence. It's not. Austin has never laid his hands on me. Austin has never even raised his voice at me and God in heaven knows that's the truth.

I'm here at First Delta American hospital, Asaba, receiving treatment. Several psychiatrists have come to assess me mentally and I have been diagnosed of bipolar disorder. Bipolar is real. Here in Africa, we tend not to know about it due to ignorance or overlook it. I cannot tell you all how I've been feeling in these tiny videos that I've been making but I will, however, show you motion pictures soon."

Chisom Laurel has signed with a London based record and music publishing company “Virtuosity Music Group” a long term multi album recording deal understood to rank as one of the most expensive artist development deals in Nigeria. Industry insiders suggest the global pact could be worth upwards of £75,000.

This is the first signing for the 16-year-old Lagos born who hails from Anambra state, Nigeria. She is a 100 level Biochemistry student at the St Paul’s University in Awka and was discovered by VMG chief executive Felix Beck after he had watched her Instagram cover song videos. Impressed by her vocals he reached out to his team in Nigeria and got her a vocal coach to strengthen her vocal range.

Although a fresh new artist, Chisom Laurel is a pop-soul singer-songwriter with an exquisite and astonishing voice, a representation of strong young female vocalist with rich harmonic and melodic sense together with a lush rhythmic pallet which is a strong core presentation of her believes and deepest felt emotions which connect deeply to empower. This gives Chisom an edge demonstrating her pedigree as an emerging talent with a possibly enviable reputation and Virtuosity Music Group (VMG) is ready to guide her as she commences this journey.

The label earlier this year signed a global licensing deal with Universal Music Group and is not leaving any stones unturned to make sure Chisom Laurel gets every possible recognition she deserves in the music scene. Speaking to VMG Nigeria’s Senior A&R manager Okoh Akassa : “…we are glad Chisom Laurel is kicking off her music career with us & above all delighted to be able to bring the music of this exceptional and unique artist to Africa & the World at large. She’s amazing…”

Her debut Single Miracles is set to be released later in December 2020. Chisom Laurel has now become one of the first and youngest artists to have signed a Major record deal.
