Court sentences Prophet Sotitobire to life imprisonment over missing child

 - Almost a year after a child, Kolade Gold, was reported missing in the church, Prophet Babatunde Alfa of Sotitobire Chapel has been sentenced.

The prophet was handed a life jail term alongside five others who were found culpable of kidnapping

- Kolade's parents have not seen their child since he went missing in 2019

The founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa, and five others were on Tuesday, October 6, sentenced to life imprisonment after a one-year-old kid Kolawole Gold was declared missing. The Nation reports that they were found guilty on a two-count charge bordering on kidnapping, aiding and abetting to kidnap. Recall that the prophet was arraigned before an Akure magistrate court by the Department of Security Services. The cleric was arraigned on Monday, December 23, 2019, alongside six other defendants. The arraignment happened shortly after the disappearance of the child inside the church in November 2019.

It should be noted that some of the other defendants jailed were Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, and Grace Ogunjobi. The child was taken to the church by his parent last year and efforts to locate him have proved futile.
