NIN: This is what applicants must pay for correction of dates of birth, NIMC reveals

It was gathered that the NIN holders are also required to pay a processing fee of N5,000 for card renewal or card replacement as well as an address modification fee of N500. NIN holders pay N15,000 for date of birth correction, NIMC official declares. Noting that NIN enrolment is free, Opesanwo said there are fees attached to card renewal, correction of date of birth and change of address According to him, there are different services that the commission offers. The NIMC official noted that the fees are payable to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) of the federal government, adding that for correction of date of birth, it is N15,000 and it is payable to the TSA. Meanwhile, it had been previously reported that some staff of the NIMC were suspended over extortion of the NIN applicants. It was reported that the minister of communications and digital economy, Ali Isa Ibrahim Pantami, directed the immediate suspension of the staff on Sunday, January 3. n a statement issued by the NIMC, it was disclosed that the staff were involved in the extortion of applicants at the NIMC Bauchi and Kaduna state offices. In another report, the federal government issued a fresh directive announcing the lift of suspension on replacement and activation of old Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card. The directive was given on Thursday, December 31, in a statement by the director of public affairs of the National Communication Commission (NCC) Ikechukwu Adinde.
